Edustaff would like to congratulate Staci Rybicki for being named April’s Higher Education Employee of the Month!
Staci is a lead cook in the catering department at West Shore Community College, where she has worked since 2010.
She was nominated by Zulema Perez, an administrative assistant in the college’s Financial Aid office.
“Staci has a truly hospitable spirit. She goes above and beyond to serve her guests in the café area of the bookstore and always has a smile on her face. She will brighten the gloomiest days for anyone she encounters, and serves eagerly,” she said. “Staci always has a positive demeanor. She is a hard worker and an incredible asset to the West Shore Community College community.”
Staci says she loves working with the public, and enjoys seeing the students and making their days better.
After 15 years, she said, the staff at West Shore Community College is like family.
“They have always been there for me through the trials of life,” she said.
She started in 2010 as a line cook, and has taken on increasingly challenging roles over the years. She has enjoyed learning about food safety in her role at the college, and was able to get her food safety certification. Her job also involves supervising employees, inventory control, and catering campus events.
Staci has also been honored by West Shore Community College for her work, and they have pledged to cover her tuition if she wants to further her education at the college. She is thinking about studying business management or taking computer classes.
When she’s not working, Staci enjoys spending time with her 17-year-old daughter, cooking, and taking walks along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
