Dimante is a personal trainer at Schoolcraft College, where he has worked since 2020.
Matt Cooper, Recreation Facilities Manager at the college, nominated Dimante for the honor. He said Dimante has been a model of consistency in the department, and he's incredibly well-liked by the staff and those he comes in contact with.
“He is someone I trust to work with new employees because he makes a point to take them under his wing and make them feel welcome from the very beginning,” he said. “He's a true team player!”
Dimante has a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Wayne State University with a focus on exercise and sport science. He was just about to start an internship at Schoolcraft College in 2020 when the Covid pandemic shut the recreation center down. The internship did not happen, but when the center later needed someone for on-call staff, they remembered him and got in touch.
Now, he works mainly as a personal trainer, but he also helps out with customer service and works as a site manager when the full-time managers can’t be there.
“I enjoy the management staff and meeting the very diverse clientele at the community college,” he said. “Coming from a sports background, I definitely enjoy working as a personal trainer, helping people with their different types of goals.”
When he’s not working at Schoolcraft College, he also works as a professional women’s gymnastics coach. In his spare time, he enjoys hanging out with family and friends, playing recreational sports like basketball, and just being active. He is also very involved in his Kingdom Hall and religious activities.
Congratulations, Dimante, and thank you for your work with Schoolcraft College!
