Edustaff would like to congratulate Jodi Chinavare as our Higher Education Employee of the Month for October.
Jodi has worked for Edustaff for nearly eight years as the accounts payable clerk at Mid-Michigan College in Harrison, MI.
Susan Call, director of accounting at the college, nominated Jodi for the honor. Susan said Jodi is efficient, supportive, transparent, confidential, loyal, accountable, organized, and friendly.
“She is the epitome of a team player and helps to foster a supportive and well-managed financial environment that benefits students, employees, vendors, and the entire college community,” she said.
Susan said Jodi helps maintain the financial health of the college, enabling faculty and staff to focus on their primary roles. She fosters trust among all stakeholders, builds strong relationships with local businesses and service providers, and implements best practices to streamline operations, saving time and resources.
Jodi said she loves her job and the people she works with. Everyone gets along well, and that makes it fun to go to work.
“It’s kind of like a little family,” she said.
Jodi is married with three adult kids, and enjoys caring for her two grandchildren, ages 6 and 2, when she isn’t working.
“I like doing family things,” she said. “We go boating all summer and take the kids tubing.”
Susan said when Jodi arrived at the college in 2016, the accounts payable position was in dire need of an overhaul.
“She whipped everything into shape and then some,” Susan said. “It was a refreshing and needed transition. She's sort of like our departmental mom, and makes the best cookies, too!”
